Abbas Mohammed Assumes Duty as 16th NSCDC Commandant in Kwara


 Abbas Nda Mohammed has assumed duty as the 16th commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State.

He took over on Monday from Bala Bodinga Bawa, who has been redeployed to the corps’ national headquarters in Abuja after spending just over one month in the state.

Mohammed, a seasoned security professional with over two decades of experience, previously served in several strategic roles within the corps, including at the Zone 4 Headquarters in Minna and as Head of Operations in Kwara State.

Other positions he held include Head of Anti-Vandal Unit in Niger State, Area Commander in Kainji Local Government Area, Divisional Officer in Edati Local Government Area, and Head of Counter-Terrorism Unit in Zamfara State.

Speaking after assuming office, Mohammed reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property, safeguarding critical national assets and strengthening intelligence-driven operations across the state.

He warned criminals and vandals to stay away from Kwara, stating that the command would adopt proactive measures to tackle all forms of criminality.

The new commandant also pledged to enhance collaboration with other security agencies, traditional institutions and stakeholders to sustain peace and security in the state.
