Image
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, will not secure up to 10 percent of votes in Rivers State during the 2027 general election. Wike made the declaration during a luncheon organised in honour of candidates of the Rainbow Coalition for the 2027 elections in Rivers State. The former Rivers State governor stated that no governorship candidate outside the Rainbow Coalition would emerge victorious in the state, insisting that the coalition’s adopted candidate would win the election. According to him, the ADC and the National Democratic Congress, NDC, lack electoral experience and only understand political defections rather than practical electioneering. Wike said the 2027 election would expose the opposition parties to the realities of contesting elections in Rivers State, stressing that political success requires grassroots mobilisation and hard work rather than public e...
