Ambode Endorses Hamzat, Backs Tinubu’s Re-election

A former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has publicly endorsed the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 election.

In a personally signed statement, Ambode congratulated Hamzat, describing his emergence as a reflection of loyalty, dedication, and long-standing commitment to the party’s ideals.

He commended Hamzat’s consultations across party structures, noting that they demonstrated strong alignment with the APC’s values of unity and progress.

Ambode expressed confidence that Lagos State would benefit from Hamzat’s experience and leadership capacity if elected.

The former governor also reaffirmed his support for the re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, linking Nigeria’s future prosperity to the continuity of the current administration.

He called on party members to mobilise support, urging the Lagos APC to deliver at least three million votes for the president in the next general election.

Ambode further stressed the need for the party to secure victories across elective positions, including National Assembly seats, as part of a broader electoral strategy.

He concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Lagos and Nigeria, saying the best days lie ahead.
