APC Chieftain Ajose Joins Lagos Governorship Race, Picks Nomination Form

An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has obtained the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination form for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

Ajose disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday, describing the move as a major step in his ambition to serve as governor on the platform of the APC.

He said his aspiration is driven by a commitment to purposeful leadership, inclusive governance and development that impacts all communities across the state.

According to him, his vision focuses on creating opportunities, promoting equitable growth and ensuring that no resident is left behind.

Ajose added that his decision is anchored on service and guided by a belief in the potential of Lagos and its people.

His entry into the race comes amid ongoing political developments within the APC, where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as his preferred successor.

The Governance Advisory Council has also backed Hamzat as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
