Atiku, Amaechi Meet to Strengthen ADC Coalition Ahead of Political Showdown

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday held a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening the African Democratic Congress coalition ahead of anticipated political contests.

The development was disclosed by Atiku’s Special Adviser, Eta Uso, in a post on X, where he said the meeting focused on unity and coordination among coalition stakeholders.

According to him, the alliance remains firm and committed to confronting what he described as excesses of the ruling All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government through lawful means.

“The ADC coalition remains united and resolute. The alignment is firm, and our collective commitment to defending democracy is unwavering,” Uso said.

The meeting comes amid heightened political realignments and coalition-building efforts ahead of future elections.

It also follows a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Abuja, which restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission from recognising or participating in congresses organised by a disputed caretaker leadership of the African Democratic Congress, deepening the party’s internal leadership crisis.
