Atiku Praises Amaechi, Describes Him as Statesman
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has commended former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, describing him as a statesman with lasting contributions to Nigeria.
Atiku made the remarks on Wednesday in a post on X following a visit to Amaechi at his residence in Abuja.
He said the meeting was engaging and productive, highlighting Amaechi’s extensive record in public service.
According to him, Amaechi’s roles as a two-time Speaker, governor and minister have left a significant imprint on the country’s political landscape.
“Amaechi is a statesman whose distinguished service continues to echo in the annals of our national life,” Atiku said.
He also expressed appreciation for the reception accorded him and his delegation during the visit.
The meeting comes amid ongoing political consultations, with both figures reportedly linked to the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress ahead of future elections.
