Chelsea Sack Rosenior After Brighton Defeat, Name McFarlane Interim Boss Chelsea Football Club

Chelsea Football Club have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior following a string of poor results, culminating in a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.

The club confirmed the decision in a statement on Wednesday, thanking Rosenior for his professionalism and integrity since taking charge midway through the season, but admitting that recent performances fell short of expectations.

Chelsea announced that Calum McFarlane will take over as interim head coach until the end of the campaign, working with the club’s existing backroom staff.

The club stated that its immediate focus remains on securing European qualification and advancing in the FA Cup.

It added that the decision to part ways with Rosenior was taken after careful consideration, with plans underway to appoint a permanent manager to provide long-term stability.
