Ex-Kwara Commissioner Joins 2027 Reps Race, Unveils Economic Agenda

Immediate past Kwara State Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ilorin East and Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

Olododo made the declaration at an event attended by political stakeholders and supporters, stating that he would run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

He pledged to build a functional local economy for the constituency, focusing on creating sustainable income opportunities for traders, farmers and young people.

According to him, his agenda would prioritise economic empowerment through access to federal intervention funds and skill development in areas such as technical trades, digital skills and remote work.

Olododo also promised transparent and accountable representation, assuring constituents that his activities in the National Assembly would be open and subject to public scrutiny.

He added that efforts would be made to connect residents with opportunities from institutions such as the Bank of Industry, NIRSAL and the Central Bank of Nigeria to support small and medium-scale enterprises.

Speaking at the event, a member of the Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Abdulganiyu Alawo, described Olododo as a capable leader, urging constituents to support his ambition.

Similarly, a chieftain of the APC, Usman Bibire Ajape, commended the aspirant’s performance during his tenure as commissioner, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver if elected.

A student leader, Adebayo Abdulkadir Alasa, also praised Olododo’s support for youth development, describing him as a leader with broad appeal and commitment to service.

Olododo, an indigene of Ibagun Ward in Ilorin East Local Government Area, is seeking to represent the constituency previously served by his father between 2019 and 2023.
