Faleke Obtains APC Nomination Forms for Hamzat’s 2027 Governorship Bid

The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has obtained the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of Lagos Deputy Governor, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The forms were presented to Faleke by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, following the payment of N50 million covering both the expression of interest and nomination requirements.

Faleke’s action signals the formal commencement of Hamzat’s governorship bid under the platform of the APC as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

The lawmaker, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Group, had earlier obtained similar nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of early mobilisation for his re-election campaign.

Party officials described the development as part of strategic preparations within the APC ahead of the forthcoming electoral cycle.

The Federal Government has approved a comprehensive restructuring of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, marking the first major reform of the scheme since its establishment 53 years ago. The approval was granted at the federal executive council meeting held in Abuja on Monday as part of efforts to reposition the NYSC into a skills-focused and productivity-driven institution aligned with the Federal Government’s economic and youth development agenda. NYSC Reform: FG Replaces Khaki Uniform With Adire Fabric

The Federal Government has announced that the traditional khaki uniform of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, will be replaced with Adire fabric as part of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the scheme and promoting local production. The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, disclosed this on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, saying the initiative is designed to strengthen indigenous industries and ensure government spending supports Nigeria’s economy.
