The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), is set to deliver a keynote address at a stakeholders’ policy dialogue on Nigeria’s electoral process scheduled for April 29, 2026, in Abuja.
The event, organized by Abuja-based law firm Law Corridor, will hold at the Abuja Continental Hotel and is expected to bring together political party leaders, civil society organizations, and local and international election observers.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the organizers, the dialogue will focus on key challenges affecting Nigeria’s electoral system ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It added that senior legal practitioners and experts, including Muyiwa Atoyebi (SAN), Seun Okinbaloye, Bala Maiyaki (SAN), Ahmed Raji (SAN), Patrick Ikwueto (SAN), Alhassan Umar (SAN), Dantele Yusuf and Bukola Idowu, are expected to participate.
Managing Partner of Law Corridor, Henry Kelechukwu Eni-Otu, said the dialogue is critical due to its proximity to the next general elections, stressing the need for reforms that will strengthen electoral integrity.
He said the engagement would provide a platform for stakeholders to propose solutions to challenges within the electoral process and improve public confidence in elections.
The organizers further disclosed that a policy brief containing recommendations and reform proposals would be produced after the event and submitted to relevant government agencies.
They noted that the previous edition of the dialogue focused on governance issues, with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, presiding over discussions.
