JAMB Shifts Direct Entry Deadline to May 8, Adds New Registration Centres

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the deadline for the sale of Direct Entry application forms to May 8, 2026.

The board announced the extension in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, stating that the decision is to ensure all eligible candidates have sufficient opportunity to access tertiary education.

JAMB said the move is part of efforts to prevent prospective Direct Entry candidates from being excluded due to time constraints.

The board also approved five additional registration centres to ease the application process in areas experiencing high demand.

The centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning Mini Campus at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, Bells University of Technology in Ota, Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre at the Federal College of Education Special in Oyo State, and Human Development Initiatives Grace House in Iwaya, Sabo, Lagos.

According to JAMB, the new centres, which commenced operations on April 30, 2026, are expected to reduce congestion and improve access for candidates completing their Direct Entry registration.
