The new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kwara State, Abbas Nda Mohammed, has vowed to tackle rising security challenges in Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts, warning criminals to leave the state or face the full weight of the law.
Mohammed made this known on Wednesday during his maiden interaction with journalists in Ilorin, where he outlined plans to strengthen security operations and protect critical national assets.
He said the command would deploy more personnel to troubled areas and activate tactical units for rapid response, particularly in the Kaiama and Oro-Ago axis.
The commandant noted that his appointment as the 16th substantive head of the corps in the state was both a privilege and a call to greater responsibility.
According to him, efforts would focus on improved intelligence gathering, enhanced operational strategies, and intensified action against vandalism, sabotage, and other criminal activities.
Mohammed also stressed the need for collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders, describing security as a collective responsibility.
He commended the media for its role in public enlightenment and security awareness, adding that sustained partnership with journalists is vital to effective policing and national stability.
