Melaye Insists ADC Convention Will Hold Despite Venue Dispute

A member of the convention planning committee of the African Democratic Congress, Dino Melaye, has said no force can stop the party from holding its scheduled convention, citing a valid contract and full payment for the venue.

Melaye made the statement on Tuesday during an appearance on Arise Television Morning Show, amid reports that the event faced disruption over venue access in Abuja.

He alleged that attempts were made to halt the event, including efforts to shut the venue gates and evict organisers, but said the committee resisted the move based on an existing agreement with the facility owners.

According to him, the party fulfilled all financial obligations and holds valid documentation, including receipts and a signed contract for the venue.

Melaye maintained that the convention would proceed as planned, stressing that no authority could override a legally binding agreement.

He also expressed confidence in the party’s strength, stating that the ADC remains committed to challenging the All Progressives Congress in the political space.
