Osifo Buys APC N100m Presidential Forms, Joins 2027 Race
Former presidential aspirant Stanley Osifo has purchased the N100 million All Progressives Congress presidential nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the party’s presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections, signaling an early challenge to President Bola Tinubu.
The purchase was confirmed Tuesday in a video shared by Imran Muhammad, media aide to the APC National Chairman, showing payment and acceptance of the forms. The forms cost N100 million, comprising N30 million for expression of interest and N70 million for nomination.
Osifo’s entry into the race follows his earlier declaration to seek the APC ticket, despite increasing endorsements for Tinubu within the ruling party.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, Osifo denied allegations that his ambition was backed by Tinubu, insisting his decision to run was driven by personal conviction and not political sponsorship.
He said he had never received support from the President and challenged anyone with contrary evidence to make it public. He also said he had not been found wanting in party conduct or involved in anti-party activities.
Osifo maintained that endorsements by party leaders do not determine the outcome of the presidential primary, arguing that constitutional provisions guiding candidate selection remain supreme.
The APC has scheduled its presidential primary for May 15 and 16 as aspirants intensify preparations ahead of the contest.
