Oyebanji to Launch Re-Election Campaign April 27 in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, will officially launch his re-election campaign on April 27 ahead of the June 20 election.

The Director-General of the Biodun Oyebanji 2026 Campaign Organisation, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, disclosed this on Wednesday at a press conference in Ado Ekiti, stating that the campaign would be issue-based.

He said the governor was seeking a second term based on his first-term performance and public support, adding that grassroots mobilisation had already begun across the state.

According to Fasuyi, the formal flag-off aligns with the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission, with the party targeting victory in all 177 wards and a minimum of 500,000 votes.

He noted that the campaign would highlight achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and governance reforms.

Fasuyi said the administration had delivered on key mandates, including road construction across all local government areas, school renovation, teacher training and restoration of bursaries.

He added that health facilities had been upgraded, while security in the state had improved significantly.

The campaign chief also cited achievements in transparency and fiscal performance, as well as ongoing projects such as the Ekiti Knowledge Zone and agricultural initiatives.

He said the campaign would be driven by party members at all levels and urged supporters to avoid violence, stressing that engagement would focus on issues rather than attacks on opponents.
