2027: Atiku Reveals Details of Talks With Amaechi

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has revealed details of his meeting with former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, following the party’s presidential primary election.

Atiku disclosed on Thursday that the visit to Amaechi’s Abuja residence focused on discussions about Nigeria’s worsening economic hardship, insecurity and the need for patriotic citizens to work together to address the country’s challenges.

The ADC presidential candidate, who recently defeated Amaechi to secure the party’s ticket for the 2027 election, made the disclosure in a post on his X handle.

According to Atiku, the meeting also provided an opportunity to felicitate Amaechi on his birthday while both politicians exchanged friendly banter over Arsenal Football Club’s recent success.

Atiku said the conversation centered on finding solutions to what he described as the nation’s drift and despair, stressing the responsibility of political leaders to continue engaging in efforts aimed at national recovery.

The former Vice President won the ADC presidential primary with over 1.8 million votes, defeating Amaechi, who secured more than 504,000 votes, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, who polled over 177,000 votes.
