2027: Don’t Inherit My Political Enemies — Makinde Tells Oyo APM Candidate

Governor Seyi Makinde has advised the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, Bimbo Adekanbi, not to inherit his political enemies if he emerges victorious in the 2027 governorship election.

Makinde gave the advice during the party’s presidential and governorship primary election, where he urged Adekanbi to develop his own leadership style and remain focused on governance and service delivery.

The governor stated that leadership is imperfect by nature, stressing that public office holders are bound to make mistakes while carrying out their responsibilities.

According to him, Adekanbi should focus on building his own political identity rather than adopting his personal political battles.

Makinde also encouraged the governorship candidate to sustain and improve on the achievements of his administration for the benefit of the people of the state.

The governor referenced his administration’s “Omituntun” development agenda, describing it as a foundation for continued progress and expressing confidence in Adekanbi’s ability to deliver quality leadership if elected.

He added that the state had experienced the implementation of Omituntun 1.0 and Omituntun 2.0, noting that Omituntun 3.0 would continue with greater development and improved governance.
