ADC Unveils 2026 Primary Timetable
The African Democratic Congress has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, with the presidential primary scheduled for May 25.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, noting that the process will commence with the sale of nomination forms from May 5 to May 10.
According to the timetable, submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13, while screening of aspirants is fixed for May 14 to May 15.
The party said results of the screening will be published on May 17, with appeals to be heard from May 18 to May 19, and the final list of cleared aspirants released on May 20.
It added that primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats will hold on May 21 at the ward level, followed by governorship primaries on May 22.
The statement noted that the National Executive Committee will meet on May 26, while a Special National Convention for final ratification is scheduled for May 27.
Abdullahi said the timetable reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness and compliance with electoral guidelines.
He also announced a structured fee regime for nomination forms, pegging the presidential form at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million and State House of Assembly at N3 million.
The party added that a 50 percent discount has been approved for youths, while women and persons with disabilities will receive a 25 percent concession to encourage broader participation.
The ADC urged members, stakeholders and aspirants to adhere strictly to the approved schedule and guidelines.
