ADC Welcomes Abejide’s Exit Ahead of 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress has reacted to the resignation of House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, describing his exit as an opportunity to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.

Abejide, a two-term lawmaker, announced his resignation from the ADC on Friday during a press conference, stating that he plans to join a mainstream political party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The lawmaker said his decision represents a homecoming, signaling a shift in his political alignment as the election cycle approaches.

His resignation follows his recent expulsion, alongside others, from the party during its national convention.

Reacting to the development, the party’s mobilization platform, ADC Vanguard, said Abejide’s departure marks the end of a challenging period and the start of a more focused and united movement.

The platform noted that the exit would allow the party to concentrate on organization, grassroots mobilization, and national objectives, emphasizing the need for unity and stability within its ranks.
