APC Constitutes Seven-Member Committee for Presidential Primary

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has constituted a seven-member Presidential Primary Election Committee ahead of its presidential primary scheduled for Saturday.
Former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, was appointed chairman of the committee, while Sanusi Musa will serve as secretary.
Other members of the committee are former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Senator Victor Udo Udoma, Otunba Grace Titi Laoye-Ponle, former Taraba State Governor Rev. Jolly Nyame, and former Kogi State Governor Idris Wada.
The party disclosed the appointments in a notice issued by its National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru.
APC also announced the constitution of a Presidential Primary Election Appeal Committee to handle disputes arising from the exercise.
Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari was named chairman of the appeal committee, while Samuel Piwuna will serve as secretary. Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Patricia Olubunmi Etteh, was appointed as a member.
As part of preparations for the primary, the ruling party deployed 37 coordinators and collation officers to oversee the exercise across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Among those appointed are Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for Imo State, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for Kwara State, and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for Borno State.
Others include Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Speaker Yakubu Dogara for Bauchi State, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu for Abia State, and former Senator Phillip Aduda for the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the party, the presidential primary election will be held simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 wards as delegates prepare to elect the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Political observers believe the exercise is expected to consolidate support for the incumbent administration ahead of the next electoral cycle.
