APC Suspends Kwara Governorship Primary Election

The All Progressives Congress, APC has suspended its governorship primary election in Kwara State midway, sources confirmed to 360NaijaReports.

The primary election, which began earlier on Thursday, was abruptly halted and rescheduled for Friday, May 22, 2026, although party officials have yet to disclose the reason for the suspension.

Sources within the party said the exercise was stopped before completion, leaving delegates and party members awaiting further directives from the leadership of the APC in the state.

Party officials are expected to release an official statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding the suspension and outline plans for the continuation of the primary election.

More details are expected later.

The Federal Government has approved a comprehensive restructuring of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, marking the first major reform of the scheme since its establishment 53 years ago. The approval was granted at the federal executive council meeting held in Abuja on Monday as part of efforts to reposition the NYSC into a skills-focused and productivity-driven institution aligned with the Federal Government’s economic and youth development agenda. The Federal Government has announced that the traditional khaki uniform of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, will be replaced with Adire fabric as part of ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the scheme and promoting local production.
