APC Will Reclaim Oyo, Adelabu Declares

Former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu has declared that the All Progressives Congress will reclaim power in Oyo State from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Adelabu, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the APC, made the declaration in a statement released on Saturday.

The former minister said his decision to contest the next governorship election was driven by his desire to build a better Oyo State and return the state to what he described as progressive leadership under the APC.

He disclosed that plans had been concluded for the formal declaration of his governorship ambition on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to Adelabu, the declaration would signal the beginning of a renewed political movement aimed at returning the APC to power in the state.

He expressed confidence that the APC would defeat the PDP in the 2027 election through unity, commitment and support from party members and residents across the state.

Adelabu was the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election but lost to Governor Seyi Makinde, who is expected to complete his second term in office in 2027.
