Dickson: NDC United, Unlike PDP, ADC

National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Seriake Dickson, has declared that the party remains united and free from internal crises ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dickson made the statement on Saturday during the party’s first national convention held in Abuja.

He said the NDC had no factional disputes or pending court cases, unlike some other political parties in the country.

According to him, members of the party are free to contest for leadership positions and elective offices without interference or internal conflict.

“There is currently no legal case or appeal against the NDC. There are no groups fighting against each other, and everyone is free to run for any leadership role in the 2027 election without problems,” Dickson said.

He also stated that some political actions taken against party members violated their constitutional right to freedom of association.

The development comes amid reports that former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, have joined the NDC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Their entry into the party has fuelled speculation that both politicians could emerge as the party’s presidential candidate and running mate for the 2027 poll.

Meanwhile, the NDC announced that its presidential ticket has been zoned to Southern Nigeria ahead of the next general election.
