El-Rufai’s Son, Three Reps Dump APC, PDP for ADC, NDC
Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the African Democratic Congress.
The defection was announced on Thursday during plenary by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen.
According to the Speaker, Bello El-Rufai joined the ADC alongside two lawmakers from Kaduna State elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Ajilo and Suleiman Richifa.
Tajudeen also announced the defection of Kamilu Ado from the ADC to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Similarly, Joshua Obika, representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, defected from the APC to the NDC.
The lawmakers reportedly cited internal crises and uncertainty within their former political parties as reasons for their defections, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
