Fubara Withdraws from APC Governorship Primary in Rivers

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election in the state.

Fubara announced his decision in a statement personally signed on Wednesday, stating that he would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate in the election.

The governor said the decision followed extensive consultations with his family, friends, and political associates, describing it as difficult but necessary.

According to him, the move was made after deep reflection on the political situation and in the interest of the party’s unity ahead of the governorship election.

Fubara reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged his full commitment to the success of the party’s eventual candidate in Rivers State.
