NOA DG Commends Workers, Urges Productivity, Integrity
The Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Lanre Issa Onilu, has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience, dedication and contributions to national development.
Issa Onilu made the remarks in a statement issued on Friday to mark the 2026 Workers Day, describing workers as the backbone of national growth and key drivers of the country’s progress.
He said the May Day celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the dignity of labour and the role of workers in sustaining the economy despite prevailing economic and social challenges.
According to him, Nigeria is at a critical stage in its development and requires increased productivity, discipline and commitment from citizens to achieve sustainable prosperity.
The NOA boss praised workers in both public and private sectors for their resilience and commitment to nation building, urging them to embrace hard work, integrity and professionalism.
He noted that such values are essential for individual success and national advancement, adding that true national transformation begins with a positive change in mindset.
Issa Onilu also called on Nigerians to reject corruption, indolence and inefficiency, which he said continue to hinder development across critical sectors.
He expressed optimism about the country’s future, noting that the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on improving welfare, strengthening institutions and creating a conducive environment for productivity.
He further urged workers to remain patriotic and committed to building a nation where labour is respected and prosperity is widely shared.
