Oyo 2027: PDP Aspirant Oguntoyinbo Announces Resignation

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Olufemi Oguntoyinbo, has resigned from the party over its prolonged internal crisis.

Oguntoyinbo announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the state chairman of the PDP, stating that the decision takes immediate effect.

The former aspirant said he decided to leave the party after extensive consultations and careful consideration of his political future, adding that he intends to pursue his governorship ambition on the platform of another political party.

According to him, the lingering crisis within the PDP influenced his decision to quit the party.

“I am writing to officially notify you of my decision to resign from the membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, effective immediately,” the letter stated.

Oguntoyinbo added that his decision was based on his commitment to a broader vision of unity, progress and sustainable leadership at both the state and national levels.

His resignation was announced on Thursday, marking a fresh setback for the PDP in Oyo State amid ongoing internal challenges within the party.
