Senate Confirms Tegbe, Enikanolaiye as Ministers

The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointments of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The confirmations came 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu formally requested the Senate’s approval through a letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate approved both nominees after screening them in line with constitutional provisions.

Tegbe’s nomination followed the resignation of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue elective office.

Enikanolaiye’s appointment as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs came after Odumegwu Ojukwu was earlier appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, having previously served in a ministerial capacity within the same ministry.

Before his nomination, Enikanolaiye, an indigene of Kogi State, served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
