Tinubu Plans 3-Nation Visit to Boost Investment, Climate Action
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda as part of efforts to strengthen international partnerships and promote investment in Nigeria.
The trip, announced on Friday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, will begin in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
In Kenya, Tinubu is scheduled to attend the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi from May 11 to 12. The summit, co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on energy transition, digital transformation and climate action.
The statement noted that Tinubu’s participation will highlight Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic ties with African countries and France.
Following the Kenya engagement, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15. The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will bring together business leaders and policymakers to discuss economic growth and investment opportunities across Africa.
At both events, Tinubu is expected to present his administration’s reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a key destination for investment. He will also hold meetings with global and African business leaders.
The president will be accompanied by ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda engagement.
