Tinubu, who is seeking a second term ahead of the 2027 general election, defeated fellow aspirant and businessman, Sterlyn Osifo, in the exercise conducted under the APC direct primary system.
The President and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, arrived at the polling centre located at Ward E, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Saturday morning amid tight security to participate in the exercise.

The APC adopted the direct primary system for the 2027 presidential election, allowing registered party members across the country’s 8,809 wards to participate in the selection of the party’s candidate.
Voting commenced in APC wards nationwide with party officials, supporters and security personnel monitoring the exercise.
Party members and supporters turned out in large numbers at Ward L2 in Eti-Osa for the exercise, which began around 8 a.m.
