UI Students Protest Shutdown of Campus Amenities Over NASU Strike
Students of the University of Ibadan are currently staging a peaceful protest over the shutdown of basic campus amenities following the ongoing strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU).
The students are calling on the Federal Government to urgently address the demands of the striking union to bring an end to the industrial action and restore normalcy to the institution.
They took to the streets within the Ibadan campus, demanding the restoration of essential services such as electricity, water, and other facilities managed by non-academic staff.
The protesters lamented that the strike has disrupted academic activities and made campus life increasingly difficult for students.
They are urging government authorities to engage in dialogue with the unions as a matter of urgency in order to resolve the impasse and reopen access to essential services on campus.
