2027: APC Govs Review Primaries, Set to Meet National Chair


 State governors of the All Progressive Congress APC have reviewed the outcome of the party's primary elections across the country and resolved to meet with the National Chairman of the APC, Netanwe Yilwatda, and other party leaders to strategise ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Chairman of the Progressives Governors' Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, disclosed this while briefing journalists after the forum's meeting, which ended in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.

Uzodimma said the meeting reviewed the outcome of the APC primaries nationwide, the recent Ekiti State governorship election, and several by-elections in which the party recorded victories.

According to him, the governors also deliberated on governance and resolved to intensify efforts to improve the welfare of Nigerians.

"We are determined to work on solving the issues and difficulties in our democratic system and making sure our people are in a better situation," he said.

The Imo governor added that the forum agreed to engage the party's leadership to prepare for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections.

"We also decided to meet with the party's leaders to plan for the upcoming 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections," he said.

Uzodimma further stated that the governors reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the APC leadership to strengthen the party and position it for success in future elections.

The meeting was attended by governors from Ekiti, Zamfara, Taraba, Lagos, Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna, Gombe, Kebbi, Akwa Ibom and Borno states, among others.
