Adeleke Condemns Osogbo, Ede Attacks, Seeks Tinubu’s Intervention

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has condemned the coordinated attacks reported in Ile-Ife, Ede and Osogbo, urging President Bola Tinubu to call the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to order over the incidents.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor alleged that political thugs linked to the AMBO political movement carried out attacks in several parts of the state, including Ile-Ife, Akoda, Owode, Olaiya, Old Garage and Okefia.

Adeleke said the attacks left several residents injured, while reports indicated that one or two persons may have been killed. He described the incidents as unprovoked and capable of disrupting the peace and stability of Osun State.

The governor also expressed concern over what he described as the failure of security agencies to promptly stop the attacks and apprehend those responsible.

Following the incidents, Adeleke visited affected areas and hospitals where victims were receiving treatment, including the Osun State University Teaching Hospital and the Cottage Hospital.

During the visits, he sympathised with the victims and their families and assured them that the state government would continue to support them while pursuing justice for those affected.

The governor directed security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation and ensure that all individuals involved in the attacks are identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Adeleke further reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain calm, law-abiding and cooperative with security agencies as efforts continue to maintain peace across the state.
