Former lawmaker, Aleem Akande has met with traditional rulers in Ejigbo South District, seeking their support for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke and ongoing efforts to promote development across the district.
Akande made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Olúinisa of Inisa, where monarchs from communities within Ejigbo South gathered to discuss issues relating to the progress and development of their areas.
Addressing the royal fathers, Akande stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions to foster peace, unity and sustainable development.
He urged the monarchs to support Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid, citing the administration’s commitment to grassroots development, educational advancement and people-oriented policies across Osun State.
Akande also reflected on his recent resignation from the All Progressives Congress, describing the move as a decision driven by his conviction and desire to align with a political platform that prioritises fairness, inclusiveness and the welfare of the people.
The former lawmaker reaffirmed his support for the Accord Party and pledged to contribute actively to Adeleke’s re-election campaign.
The traditional rulers commended Akande for his contributions to the development of the district and acknowledged his service while in government. They also expressed appreciation for his continued interest in the welfare of their communities.
The meeting ended with prayers for Akande’s success and renewed calls for initiatives aimed at accelerating development across Ejigbo South District.
