Ex-Power Minister’s Sister, Children Rescued in Police Operation

The Nigeria Police have rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, after they were kidnapped on June 3, 2026.

The victims were abducted around 7:30 a.m. while on their way to drop the children at school. They were found alive during a police rescue operation carried out on Saturday.

During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun duel with police, and two firearms were recovered from the gang. Police sources said sustained intelligence tracking and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into the confrontation that led to the successful rescue.

Authorities also revealed that security operatives are still combing nearby areas for fleeing members of the syndicate, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The police operation underscores ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and ensure the safety of residents in the area.
