IGP Promotes 374 Kwara Police Officers
The promotion exercise, which is part of a nationwide elevation of deserving personnel across the force, affected officers across various ranks in the command.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Kwara State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, 365 police constables were promoted to the rank of corporal, while two corporals were elevated to sergeant.
The statement further disclosed that five sergeants were promoted to inspector, while two superintendents of police were advanced to the rank of chief superintendent of police.
Commending the beneficiaries, the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, described the promotions as recognition of the officers’ commitment, sacrifice and contributions to maintaining law and order in the state and across the country.
Adekimi said the elevation should serve not only as a reward for outstanding performance but also as a call to greater responsibility, discipline and professionalism.
He urged the newly promoted officers to remain committed to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force and to rededicate themselves to the protection of lives and property, as well as the maintenance of peace and public safety.
The police commissioner also praised the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising personnel welfare, career progression and institutional development, noting that the promotion exercise has boosted the morale of officers and men of the command.
The latest promotions underscore the police leadership’s commitment to encouraging excellence, dedication and professionalism while strengthening service delivery across commands nationwide.
