2027: ADC Uploads Atiku, Amaechi’s Names on INEC Portal
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the nomination portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The announcement was made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who described the move as a significant milestone in the ADC’s election preparations and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to presenting Nigerians with what it called a credible alternative.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Abdullahi said the submission reflects the party’s focus on competence, unity and national renewal.
“We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and our vice presidential candidate, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to the nomination portal of INEC.
“This marks another important step in our preparations for the 2027 general election and our commitment to offer Nigerians a credible alternative built on competence, unity and national renewal,” he stated.
Atiku emerged as the party’s presidential candidate after defeating other contenders during the ADC primary election.
Amaechi, who also contested the primary, was later selected by the party as Atiku’s running mate following the conclusion of the exercise.
The development signals the ADC’s continued efforts to consolidate its campaign structure and position itself ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
